Cyprus is located at the cross-roads of the three major Flora zones of Europe, Asia and Africa.

It is not therefore surprising that the number of plant species found runs to more than 1700 of which about 120 are endemic to the island. In the Spring time the island's countryside is transformed into a tapestry of wild flowers.

Rare species of orchid, crocus and peony appear with the melting of snow in the Troodos regions. Trees and shrubs are also interesting to identify.
